Manifesta is a biennial of nomadic art that addresses issues of global interest from the point of view of a European city or region. This 2024, the 15th edition will be held in Barcelona and 11 other metropolitan municipalities, including Terrassa.

Three themes will be explored: caring and being cared for, balancing conflicts and imagining futures.

It will be held between September 8 and November 24 next year, but the artistic team and the first participants have already been announced, in an event held this Wednesday at the headquarters of the former publishing house Gustavo Gili, in Barcelona.

The Manifesta is, according to the organizers, an opportunity to expose the contradictions that exist in the world, put people at the center and change things through art.

A jury has selected the first 10 projects that will participate, from a total of 262 presented. The final list will be known in the spring of next year.

Manifesta 15 is one of the most prestigious artistic and cultural events in the world. It was founded in the Netherlands in 1993.

Apart from Barcelona and Terrassa, the other participating cities are Granollers, Mataró, Sabadell, Sant Cugat, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Badalona, Sant Adrià del Besòs, Hospitalet de Llobregat, Cornellà de Llobregat and El Prat de Llobregat.
